VP/Director, Publishing Solutions

Global publishing and digital services provider seeks a VP/Director, Publishing Solutions to coordinate and manage all of its publishing solutions in North America. This individual will be a senior liaison to current and prospective customers and must have expertise in electronic production systems. The VP/Director will also be a key player in developing expansion plans that enable us to enter new markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and build relationships with commercial publishers and aggregators, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions.
  • Regularly monitor the scope and quality of all services.
  • Help to develop new services to keep pace with changing customer needs.
  • Develop sales plans to improve revenues from existing sources as well as from new market segments.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services and scheduling priorities with senior managers at international facilities.
  • Help to identify and negotiate potential acquisitions in North America.
  • Keep global management informed on trends in the North American market and on opportunities for new business.
  • Represent company at industry events.
  • Stay current with developments in information technology and delivery systems.

Qualifications:

  • Ten-plus years in publishing or information technology.
  • Five-plus years managing technical and sales people.
  • Deep knowledge of digital production systems, online delivery, and content development.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex electronic services on time and on budget.
  • First-hand experience in sales management and customer relations.
  • Ability to identify and develop new market opportunities.
  • Solid background in budgeting, P&L, and strategic planning.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Familiarity with global business practices.
  • Sensitivity to cultural issues that influence working relationships.
  • Spirited leadership style with the desire to mentor employees at all levels.
  • High degree of motivation and drive.
