We are seeking a General Manager to manage and drive above-market domestic and global growth for one the leading educational book publishers in professional health information for physicians, nurses, specialized clinicians, and students. The GM will have responsibility for P&L running a multimillion-dollar publishing business.
He or she will be an executive with strong leadership skills, who knows how to build dynamic and successful teams, and will fulfill the following criteria:
Operational
- Demonstrable experience in driving above-market growth for domestic and global publishing businesses.
- Experience developing lead print and electronic products and brands.
- Decisive management style to help push forward business models, especially in the internet space.
- Ability to manage large and diverse staff of editors, marketers, and sales, production, and business professionals.
- Ability to bring in new talent where needed in a timely fashion.
Transformative
- Track record in developing transformative, innovative technologies for delivery of content and services.
- Experience with current online business models including a multi-platform, integrated marketing advertising strategy.
Customer
- Deep knowledge of sales and multi-channel distribution.
- Meaningful relationships with intermediary customer sets.
- Experience in stimulating end-user demand.
Financial
- Resource allocation based on financial models, ROI.
- Broad portfolio management.
