DIRECTOR OF CHANNEL SALES

We are pleased to announce that Author Solutions (ASI) has appointed Michael Rohrig to the position of Director of Channel Sales.

A book industry veteran with nearly three decades of sales and sales management successes, Rohrig has held sales leadership posts with Macmillan/Holtzbrinck Publishers, Simon & Schuster, and Scholastic. In his new role, Rohrig will direct the growth of ASI's channel book sales operations.

DIRECTOR, AUTHOR MARKETING SERVICES

We are pleased to announce that Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI) has appointed former Waldenbooks and Random House executive Sheryl Stebbins as Director of Author Marketing Services. In this newly created role, Stebbins will direct the development and delivery of professional author marketing services and products designed to help authors promote and sell books. In addition, Stebbins will oversee the special recognition programs offered by ASI brand iUniverse, which include the Editor's Choice, Rising Star, and Star programs.

"Through our Author Services brands, we have helped lead the revolution in publishing and enabled more authors to get their books to market," said Kevin Weiss, ASI president and chief executive officer. "By adding Sheryl to our team, we are making a significant commitment to also transform the way authors promote and distribute their books. We will offer services comparable to what you would expect from traditional publishers and new services that take advantage of innovative ways to reach potential readers."

With Random House, Stebbins spent 12 years in various senior-level publishing and marketing roles. As Publisher of the Reference/Value Group, she published 75 new titles annually. As Marketing Director for the Random House Publishing Group, she created and implemented successful marketing strategies for high-profile Random House titles, including Tom Brokaw's Greatest Generation series and books authored by E.L. Doctorow, Mary Doria Russell, Norman Mailer, and Kurt Andersen.

Prior to her tenure with Random House, Stebbins spent 16 years with national book retailer Waldenbooks serving in several book-buying and merchandising roles, ultimately ascending to the position of Director of Merchandise Buying. In this position, she was responsible for the purchasing budget and for directing the buying activities for more than 1,100 retail outlets nationwide.
