ARCHIPELAGO LEARNING APPOINTS MARTIJN TEL AS

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

We are pleased to announce that Martijn Tel has joined Archipelago Learning as Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this new position, Martijn will oversee human resources, legal, and facilities management, as well as work closely with the executive team on budgeting, management reporting, process improvement, cost containment, and other operating enhancement projects.

Martijn most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Medical Media Holdings LLC, a continuing medical education company located here in Dallas. From March 2007 to January 2008, Martijn served as the Chief Financial Officer of Harcourt Inc.’s Global Operations Division, an education publishing company. From April 2004 to February 2008, Martijn served as the Chief Financial Officer of Harcourt Achieve, Inc., a multinational supplemental education company. From November 2002 until March 2004, Martijn served as the Chief Financial Officer of Classroom Connect, an online professional development company.

Martijn began his career at Elsevier Science and served in several chief financial officer roles, most notably for its e-business, including ScienceDirect and the Global Sales Organization. Martijn has a graduate degree in accounting and finance and a postgraduate controller’s degree from the Vrije Universiteit, located in The Netherlands.

ARCHIPELAGO LEARNING APPOINTS ALLISON DUQUETTE AS

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER, AND SALES OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are pleased to announce that Allison Duquette will be joining Archipelago Learning as Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Sales Operations Manager. In this new position, Allison will have the marketing team reporting to her and will lend support to the sales team by helping to improve the company’s internal sales operations and support.

Allison has been an independent consultant for K-12 technology firms in the areas of marketing, sales processes, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and process re-engineering. From 2007 to 2008, she served as President of the Education Systems Division of MAXIMUS, Inc., a consulting services company. From 2003 to 2006, Allison was President and Chief Executive Officer of Spectrum K12, Inc., an education software company. Prior to that, Allison held several product line management and marketing positions at NCS Pearson.

Allison received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.
