Rena has spent 25 years in the publishing business and comes to Hachette with vast experience in her field, as well as enormous passion for the industry. She was most recently Executive Managing Editor at Sterling Publishing. Prior to that, she held Managing Editorial and Production positions at Random House, Workman, Penguin, and HarperCollins. Rena has deep expertise in both traditional print publishing and digital production.

We are pleased to announce that Craig Bauer will be joining Hachette Book Group as SVP of Production & Manufacturing. Hachette Book Group [hachettebookgroup.com] is a leading U.S. trade publisher headquartered in New York and owned by Hachette Livre, the second largest publisher in the world. HBG publishes approximately 600 adult books, 180 young adult and children’s books, and 50 audio book titles annually.
Craig comes to HBG from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where his most recent role was VP, Strategic Sourcing. He also served as VP, Global Supply Chain while at Houghton Mifflin. Prior to HMH Craig spent eight years at R.R. Donnelley, where his most senior role was Director, Business Development & Planning. He also led the Graphics Management Division and the Digital Services Division during his tenure at R.R. Donnelley.
As SVP, Production & Manufacturing, Craig’s responsibilities will include setting sourcing and production technology strategy, optimizing vendor relationships, and promoting efficient processes throughout the Production and Manufacturing group. In addition, Craig spearhead HBG’s digital publishing technology initiatives as they relate to production and value-chain partners in close collaboration with HBG’s Digital Media and Inventory & Procurement teams.

We are pleased to announce that Todd McGarity has joined Hachette Book Group as VP, Distribution Sales & Services. In this role, Todd will be responsible for overseeing all relationships with existing distribution services clients. Additionally, Todd will be responsible for continuing needs assessments to grow HBG’s portfolio of distribution services, as well as market research, opportunity evaluation, selling and promotion, and client integration. He will report to COO Ken Michaels.
Todd was most recently the Director of Client Development for Random House. Prior to that, he held management roles at Von Hoffman Corporation, Drake Beam Morin, and FT Knowledge. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State and an M.B.A. from Baruch College.
