We are pleased to announce that The United Methodist Publishing House (UMPH), has announced that Audrey Kidd has been named Chief Operating Officer of UMPH, effective March 16.
Audrey Kidd has over 30 years of management experience in a wide range of industries, spanning the fine arts, broadcasting, healthcare, research, and all aspects of bookselling and publishing. Most recently, she was Vice President of Bible Group Marketing for Thomas Nelson. Prior to joining Thomas Nelson in 2007, Kidd was Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising for Ingram Book Group and managed a diverse group of departments including creative services, corporate marketing, retail merchandising and inventory management services, and library collection development.
Her career in the book industry began with Davis-Kidd Booksellers as Vice President of Marketing and Operations, a position she also held with Joseph-Beth Booksellers of Cincinnati following the merger of the two bookselling legends. As Regional Director of Marketing for Hospital Corporation of America, Kidd helped guide the marketing efforts of over 50 HCA hospitals across the country, serving in this position during a time of unprecedented change in the healthcare industry.
Kidd has served on several industry advisory groups, supporting the American Booksellers Association, Christian Booksellers Association, The National Book Foundation, American Marketing Association, United Way, and various organizations related to mental healthcare and women’s and children’s services. She is a frequent speaker on change management as well as on topics related to sales, marketing, inventory management, and merchandising.
“I am very humbled to have been offered this significant position during such an important time in the work of The United Methodist Publishing House and the United Methodist Church,” she said. “I was drawn to this position not just because of its challenges and strong connection with my interests and experience, but also because I am deeply dedicated to the mission of UMPH to help seekers know God through Jesus Christ, love God, and choose to serve God and neighbor, especially in the turbulent world in which we live. I am grateful for the opportunity to support this mission every day in a very real and personal way.”
“Audrey Kidd brings a deep love of God and delight in our mission, a breadth of industry knowledge, a strong track record of experience, and a gift for uniting others in innovative work,” Neil Alexander, President & Publisher of UMPH, said. “These attributes will significantly enrich UMPH’s ability to break new ground in delivering resources that make a positive difference for people and their churches.”site map | phone:212-838-4000 | fax: 212-935-3291 | email: info@bertdavis.com
