MCGRAW-HILL PROFESSIONAL APPOINTS GARY KREBS AS VP/GROUP PUBLISHER, BUSINESS

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Krebs to the position of Vice President and Group Publisher, Business for McGraw-Hill Professional. In this role, Gary will be responsible for the global business and reference publishing program as well the digital product development initiatives in this important market space.

 

Gary joins McGraw-Hill Professional from Globe Pequot Press where he served as Group Publisher with responsibility for all aspects of the publishing program. Prior to that, he was Publisher for Adams Media. In his two-decade career, Gary has worked in a number of capacities at Macmillan Publishing, Facts On File, and the book packager, Philip Lief Group. Gary is also a published author of a number of consumer reference books.

 

Gary’s experience in running large-scale reference programs serving business and reference communities will be invaluable as he guides McGraw-Hill Professional’s own business and reference programs. In addition, he will be able to leverage his work at Adams Media and Globe Pequot as he defines MH’s digital priorities.

 

MCGRAW-HILL NAMES MIKE MORLEY VICE PRESIDENT, GROUP EDITORIAL DIRECTOR, WRIGHT GROUP LITERACY AND CONTEMPORARY

We are pleased to announce that McGraw-Hill Companies has appointed Michael Morley as Vice President, Group Editorial Director, Wright Group Literacy and Contemporary.

Mike will be responsible for editorial development for Wright Group’s Literacy and Contemporary product lines, including Wright Group’s extensive, growing line of new literacy, intervention, and ELL products, as well as Contemporary’s secondary and adult education lines.

Mike joins the Wright Group with a distinguished career in editorial product development, both core curriculum and supplemental publishing. Most recently, Mike was Senior Vice President of Product Development at Sundance/Newbridge Educational Publishing, where he managed the company’s large product development efforts.

Previously, Mike held key positions at Zaner-Bloser, Houghton Mifflin Co., and Silver Burdett Ginn. Additionally, he taught at the Commonwealth Day School in the Boston area as an elementary school teacher.

Mike received a Bachelor’s Degree from Reed College and a Master’s Degree from Lesley College.

 

DANIEL CATON APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF MCGRAW-HILL LEARNING GROUP

We are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Caton as president of McGraw-Hill Learning Group (MHLG). Dan succeeds Pete Sayeski, who is retiring.

MHLG was established in 2003 by combining the operations of SRA/McGraw-Hill and Wright Group/McGraw-Hill. The group was formed to better leverage growth opportunities within the PreK-12 alternative basal and supplementary markets. As president of MHLG, Dan’s leadership and extensive expertise will ensure that SRA and Wright Group remain the leaders in the alternative basal and supplementary markets. He will continue to enhance our focus on customer needs in these key markets and capitalize on growth opportunities by leveraging existing programs.

We are exceedingly fortunate to have attracted a leader of Dan’s caliber to our MHE team, and we are eager to begin working with Dan and MHLG’s senior leadership to accomplish all our future goals.
