SCHOOL SPECIALTY VISUAL MEDIA NAMES ADRIENNE SCHURE VICE PRESIDENT PRODUCT MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Adrienne will be responsible for supervising the management of existing product lines, including retaining, revitalizing, or retiring current titles. Furthermore, she will direct the expansion of School Specialty’s existing product line by conceptualizing and creating proprietary programs in video and other media and by acquiring third-party product. Adrienne will also be a pivotal player in the exploration of online programming. Reporting to the President, Adrienne will manage 13 direct reports.

Adrienne joins School Specialty with 20 years of experience in the creation of innovative educational media products and expertise in strategic planning for new products and their dissemination. Most recently, Adrienne worked as a consultant on projects for Scholastic, Pearson Learning, Newbridge and Time for Kids. Previously, she was Senior Director, Product Development for Mid-Continent Research in Education and Learning (McREL) where she created and executed a product development plan and managed the development of a new web site using a revolutionary new content management application. Adrienne also served four years as Editorial Director, Discovery School Channel for Discovery Communications, Inc.

MICHAEL KROENING NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, SALES FOR SCHOOL SPECIALTY VISUAL MEDIA

In his appointment, Michael will oversee all sales for the educational video company. He will manage a team of independent and staff sales representatives who call on schools and districts throughout the country.

Michael has a wonderful track record in promoting and selling educational media to the K-12 market. Michael comes to School Specialty from his position as Director, National Accounts at Discovery Education, Inc. Previously, Michael was at Clearvue/eav & New SVE Inc., a leading K-12 educational VHS/DVD/VOD company, for ten years where he most recently served as Vice President Sales.
